New York - June 2016 - Tailwind Capital, a leading middle market private equity firm investing in growth-oriented companies in healthcare, business and industrial services, has closed the sale of TowerCo 2013 ("TowerCo"), an owner and operator of wireless communication towers. TowerCo sold 253 towers and 95 other assets to Grain Infrastructure II, L.P. of Sarasota, Florida.
TowerCo 2013 represents the third time since 2004 that Tailwind has partnered with Richard Byrne, Scot Lloyd and their colleagues on the TowerCo management team. Tailwind has backed the TowerCo management team again in a fourth platform, TowerCo IV. TowerCo IV pursues the same strategy as the previous TowerCo investments.
Richard Byrne, Chief Executive Officer of TowerCo, commented, "We are pleased with the outcome of this transaction. I would like to thank our equity investors, Tailwind Capital and Soros Fund Management. Without them and the dedicated team of people at TowerCo, our success over the past 12 years would not have been possible. We are excited to continue the partnership and look forward to growing the TowerCo IV platform."
