Cumming Group Acquires MHBC
New York – December 2018 – Cumming Group (“Cumming”), a portfolio company of Tailwind Capital, announced that it has acquired Mellersh & Harding Building Consultancy LLP (“MHBC”). Based in London, UK, MHBC was founded in 2007 by Andrew Webster, Antonia Belcher, and Sean Cushing to provide clients with tailored building consultancy services throughout the United Kingdom and Europe.
Involved throughout the entire lifecycle of the project, MHBC provides a wide range of specialized services, from building surveying and full-scale project management to design and building services engineering. MHBC’s long-standing clients include several international real estate investment management firms and industry leading retail, hospitality, industrial, and residential owners.
This transaction represents Cumming’s third add-on acquisition since Tailwind acquired the company in October 2016. MHBC further expands Cumming’s European operations, and specifically strengthens the company’s presence in the United Kingdom. The combined company has approximately 750 team members across 31 offices.
Derek Hutchison, Executive Vice President at Cumming, commented, “We are delighted to solidify our partnership with MHBC after working alongside them for several years. With an outstanding reputation in the UK and a proven track record of consistently adding value to complex projects, this merger will provide our respective clients with even more expert resources to help achieve their development-related goals.”
“Combining our expertise and resources with Cumming allows us not only to meet the expanded needs of our current clients and grow our client base, but it will also provide new and important growth opportunities for our staff,” stated Antonia Belcher, one of MHBC’s founders.
